Introduction

Laqaynah ("the app", "we") is a house-hunting companion that lets you create search journeys (rent or buy), add the houses you visit, and invite members to rate and compare them. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

Data We Collect

Account information

• Email address and display name at sign-up.
• Google or Apple sign-in identifiers, if you choose them.
• Passwords are handled entirely by Firebase Authentication; we never see them.

Content you create

• Journeys, houses, notes, ratings, and checklists.
• Photos and videos you upload for houses.
• Email addresses of members you invite to your journeys.

Location data

• Your device location (with permission) to show your position on the map and pin house locations.
• Geographic coordinates of houses you add.

How We Use Your Data

• To provide the app's core features (journeys, comparison, ratings).
• To authenticate you and secure your account.
• To enable inviting members by email and sharing journeys.
• To display houses and their locations on a map.

We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.

Third-Party Sharing

We rely on Google Firebase services to run the app:

• Firebase Authentication (account management).
• Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage (storing your data and content).
• Cloud Functions (inviting members by email).
• Google and Apple Sign-In (optional).
• Open-source map tiles for displaying locations.

These services are governed by their own privacy policies. We do not share your data with other parties except where legally required.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us at the address below, and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Your Rights

• Access, correct, or delete your data.
• Revoke permissions (such as location) from your device settings at any time.

Children's Privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
